Recent Announcements

  
Nursery is provided at all services. Located on the lower level near the parking lot entrance.

Pew Tote Bags with crayons, books, etc. for young children are available. Look for them in the back of the sanctuary and please return them.

Large Print Hymnals, Bibles and Bulletins are available at the literature counter on either side of the sanctuary.

Sunday Fellowship Time is held in the Lounge at 10:00 am. 

Hearing Devices are available.  Ask one of the ushers.

Men's Emmaus Group meets Monday evenings at 7:00pm in the senior high classroom. All men invited.

Adult Sunday School Class The Adult Sunday School class meets in  the Disciple Room at 10:15am each Sunday morning.  Please feel free to join them as often as you can.

India Orphanage Offering: Baskets are located at the back of the sanctuary for your donations to the Philip & Timothy Stains Orphanage in India.

Altar Flowers  If you would like to share the gift of flowers for special moments in your life or in celebration of special family times, please note that only real flowers and/or live plants may be used on the altar.  The thought behind this is that we serve a living God and we honor God best by sharing the gifts of God’s creation for our remembering times.

Breakfast Group will meet at 8:30am on Tuesday, Sept. 7,  at the Copper Penny, 1700 E. Washington St., West Bend.

New Policy in Effect

     Bill Schober, who has locked our church doors for many years, is retiring at the end of July.  We express our deepest thanks to him for his many years of dedication!

   The church doors will be locked at 4pm Monday through Thursday and noon on Fridays.  If you need to get into the church building after those hours, please call Alana at the office, 334-2059, or email her at church@faumc.org to make arrangements. 

   Also, you may call Betsy Winquist at 338-2480 or Ann Farris at 346-8324 and they will come to the church to open the doors for you.

    The Board of Trustees will be working on a policy for locking the church in the evenings.

                

LOOKING FOR COUPLES WHO PLAY BRIDGE… All couples welcome—friends or marriage partners.  Play once a month.  Host no more than 4 times.  18 hands.  Simple dessert.  Call Felts, before Sept. 15.


SISTERS BIBLE STUDY group will start as of Tues., Sept. 21, 7pm in the Lounge.  Call Bonnie Nissly or Dee Ream for more information.

 

Chancel Choir News
Come one, come all!  Don’t miss out on the excitement!  This is a time of new beginnings so be sure to get a good seat!  Join the Chancel Choir (high school through adults) starting Wednesday, Sept. 8th, at 7:00pm.  The Sunshine Room is the place and you are all welcome!  Bring your heart and voice and we’ll supply the seats and treats!  One hour of fun a week.  What could be better?!?!?  Any questions, call Dave Bertelsen, Choir Director, at 338-9144.


You are Invited to a Potluck Supper!

    United Methodist Women’s Weekend is September 11 and 12. The Gabler's, who are missionaries that we support, will be here for both services to give the message.

   Please join us and the Gabler's for a potluck gathering after the 5:00 church service on Saturday. Beverage and table service will be provided.  Please use the signup sheet in the north entrance.


Nursery Update
Nursery Care
is available at all services. The nursery  is available but not staffed at this time for the 9am service.  Our Staff Parish Relations Committee is still working on finding certified personnel. Please watch weekly bulletins and newsletter for updated details.

   Saturday Childcare provider is Barbara Johnson and will continue as usual.


Ice Cream Social
Join us for an Ice Cream Social next Sunday, Sept. 5th during the Coffee Hour at 10am in the lounge.   


Youth BRAINSTORM!   Sat. Sept. 11, 2010

:00-Noon – Middle School Youth

Noon-12:30pm – Lunch – PIZZA!

12:30-1:30pm – High School Youth

f you are a youth, or are interested in volunteering with youth, please plan to attend one of our BRAINSTORMing sessions!Middle School youth (6-8 graders) please come at 11am.High School youth (9-12) come at 12:30pm.PIZZA will be served between sessions, so stay for lunch or come early for lunch.Please sign-up on the bulletin board!Any questions, see Ann Farris (annf@faumc.org).


Harvest House...We will host Harvest House at St. James Episcopal Church in West Bend on Saturday, Sept. 11.  Needed are 12-15 people from 9am to 1pm and six 9x13 cakes.  Cakes need to be delivered to St. James by 9:15 am.      If you can help or if you have questions, call Christy Gust at 720-301-1183 or use the signup sheet.

 

The Seekers to Meet!

     The Seekers Group will gather on Tuesday, Sept. 28th.  Meet in the church parking lot to carpool at 10:45am. (Please note later starting  time.) If you don’t wish to carpool,. please meet at 11am at the Gehl Office Complex on Indiana Avenue for a tour.

   Lunch will be served after the tour.  Cost is $6.00.  Please sign up by Sept. 12th as the caterer needs to know at an earlier time.

   There is a signup sheet in the north foyer. Open to everyone!
